Confirmation is an educational class completed during the 7th and 8th grade years of school. Instructional classes meet between September and April. It is a 2 year class educating pre-teens/teens in the Christian faith and our Lutheran doctrine. Upon completion of this two year class the youth participates in the rite of confirmation by professing their faith in front of the congregation confirming the faith that was given to them in Baptism.
The subject matter of this class is The Bible and Luther's Small Catechism (The Catechism takes the Bible and breaks it down into questions and answers so it is easy to understand). The purpose of the confirmation years is to assist parents in the teaching of the Holy Bible as well as the Lutheran Church.
